 我与我的学习计划

你们好！我叫张欣颖，我的中文名字是我奶奶给我的。在二零一四我从菲律宾来到加拿大。不但我是菲律宾人，而且我也是中国人。我想上中文课因为虽然我是中国人，但是我的父母只有跟我一起说英文，所以我不可以说太好中文。

My goal this term is just to expand my Chinese vocabulary and improve my grammar skills. 

A funny story was that during high school, my Chinese teacher liked to play movies in Chinese when we were done with the lesson, and one time he played Despicable Me in Chinese with English subtitles, it was pretty funny.

In the process of learning Chinese, what I’ve found most difficult was retaining everything that I’ve learned. As soon as I move on to the next lesson or the course ends, I find myself forgetting much of the new vocabulary and some of the grammar that I had learned. Something I could do to overcome this problem would be to review the material more both during, and after the lesson. One thing that I would like to improve on would be to memorize Chinese better so that I could present oral projects more naturally without much need for a script. I could do this by spending more time trying to understand the dialogue so that I might remember better instead of just memorizing the words. If I better knew what I was talking about I could more easily speak about it.
