4. One time, I had a job interview with a company where I said I could speak Chinese because I grew up in China. I did not realize I had to be very fluent. When the interview started, I was unable to converse and they ended the interview early because they were looking for someone who could speak Chinese.
5. I want to be able to speak Chinese very quickly without thinking of the next word. I want to make high vocabulary words a part of my daily language so that it is very natural to use them. My friend told me that he will have the conversation with me to test this and let me know if it looks like I am thinking about the next word or am slowing down. He will especially let me know if I'm more confident, which is a good way to measure it.
