我在中文课的成长

During this language program, I was able to build a lot of confidence in learning languages. I feel more confident in writing and listening thanks to a lot of workbook writing and listening practices. Also, the midterm project allowed me to develop my project planning because I had to plan out and divide the parts with my project group members. I also learned that there are a lot of events that the Chinese department is holding for both heritage and non-heritage courses so that students can participate in and build a close connection with professors and friends. Lastly, this course focused more on learning correct grammar and short phrases. For CHIN331, I wish I could have a chance to practice listening to a really long conversation and be able to answer all the questions related to that.

The most meaningful experience was interacting with classmates in a breakout room. After we finish what the professor assigned, we were able to ask questions and get to know each other. Because the Chinese course has a relatively small class, I was able to talk with everyone, which was really cool. Also, reading other friends' posts and commenting on them was a valuable experience because, for other courses, we don't normally have a chance to see other people's work. Looking at other friends' projects and work, I was able to reflect on my learning and realize that I have a lot to learn from others.

My next goal for learning is to be able to speak with my Chinese friends fluently. After the breakdown, I want to go to China and order some food in Chinese. To achieve this goal, I might watch Chinese TV shows during my spare time. Also, I am planning to prepare for the HSK exam before I graduate from university because I want to continue learning Chinese even after university.
