Learning Journal 2: 我在中文课的成长
- Looking back on my first learning journal in September, I definitely feel like I have accomplished some of the learning goals I have set up. For me, I feel like the abojective I mastered with the upmost success stands in terms of formulating long sentences, with more complex grammatical structures. For this, several things we did contributed to realizing this goal of mine. Firstly, I would have to say that completing the preview posts were my first steps in writing longer, more complex sentences. Secondly, I would say the in-class activities we did with our classmates also played a central role, this allowed me to practice my Chinese orally in a comfortable environment. Lastly and more importantly, I would say that what helped me the most, even though it was quite stressful, were the questions 李老师would ask us in-class. This helped me out so much, especially when she would ask us to reformulate the entire sentence one more time (so fun 🤩 ). In parallel, I am also certain that I was able to enrich my vocabulary throughout the semester. This required simple weekly practice, and I would say the fun online game helped further extend my vocabulary abilities.
- I have many enjoyable memories in this class, but I would say that in general, 李老师’s positive energy was the one that motivated me the most over the course of the semester.
- My next goal for learning in Mandarin is to further test my Mandarin speaking and communication skills by completing a semester in a Mandarin-speaking country. It is my ultimate goal in life. I am also taking Chinese 333 next semester, anyone taking it as well?
